Physician-Directed Care for Active Acne
Active acne is a common medical skin condition, and it responds best to a personalized, physician-directed plan. Our Acne Management program looks at the whole picture and may combine an individualized skincare regimen, prescription therapies when appropriate, and ongoing follow-up. What's right for you is determined during a consultation.
Breakouts have many causes, and what clears one person's skin may not be right for another. Care begins by understanding your skin, history, and goals, then shaping a plan that fits your life.
This page is educational. Acne care is individualized and physician-directed; your provider determines what is appropriate for you. It is not a cure, and individual results vary.

Part of our care is knowing when a dermatologist’s office is the right next step. Advanced or complex cases are referred to a board-certified dermatologist, and we help coordinate the handoff. We refer when we see:
- Severe, nodular, or cystic acne, or acne that is scarring
- Acne that may call for isotretinoin
- Breakouts that don't respond to a reasonable course of care
Frequently Asked Questions
How is active acne treated at RANDALI?
Through our physician-directed Acne Management program. Depending on what's appropriate for you, a plan may combine an individualized skincare regimen, prescription therapies when appropriate, and ongoing follow-up.
Do you treat adult and hormonal acne?
Yes. Acne is common in adults and can be tied to hormonal changes. Your provider considers skin, lifestyle, and hormonal factors where relevant when shaping your plan.
What about acne scars?
Active breakouts and post-acne scarring are addressed differently. We generally focus on controlling active acne first, then discuss resurfacing for texture and scars. See our Acne Scars & Skin Texture page.
