Concern
Skin tags, cherry angiomas, seborrheic keratoses, milia, and benign moles are very common, and many people would simply prefer them gone. Every growth is evaluated first, so anything that deserves a closer look gets one.
Most benign growths can be removed in-office in a short visit. If a growth is new, changing, or otherwise uncertain, it is referred to a dermatologist for evaluation and biopsy rather than removed for cosmetic reasons.
If you have many moles or a history of sun damage, a full skin check is a thoughtful place to start. This page is educational and is not a diagnosis.
Care at Randali is whole-person and physician-directed. The options below are starting points a provider may explore with you, not a diagnosis, a recommendation, or a guaranteed outcome. Your plan is personalized and determined together during your consultation.
Part of our care is knowing when a dermatologist’s office is the right next step. Advanced or complex cases are referred to a board-certified dermatologist, and we help coordinate the handoff. We refer when we see:
Watch for the ABCDEs: Asymmetry, an irregular Border, uneven Color, a Diameter larger than a pencil eraser, and Evolving size, shape, or color. A spot that is new, bleeding, or not healing also deserves a look. These are referred to a dermatologist for biopsy.
RF removal generally does not leave tissue that can be sent to a lab, which is why it is used only for growths judged clinically benign. Anything uncertain is referred for biopsy instead.
Randali offers cosmetic mole and skin tag removal at our Lancaster office, serving Lititz, Ephrata, Manheim, and the surrounding area. Every growth is evaluated first, and anything uncertain is referred to a dermatologist's office for biopsy.
