The PRP Face Lift uses platelet-rich plasma (PRP) derived from your own blood — often combined with microneedling or injectables — to stimulate collagen, improve skin quality, and restore a more refreshed appearance.
A PRP Face Lift uses platelet-rich plasma (PRP) derived from your own blood as part of a non-surgical facial rejuvenation treatment. PRP contains concentrated platelets and growth factors that support the body's natural healing processes and collagen production.
How does a PRP Face Lift work?
The treatment begins with a blood draw, from which platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is isolated and prepared. The PRP is then strategically injected into targeted areas of the face as part of a personalized treatment designed to support skin quality, collagen production, and overall facial rejuvenation.
What concerns can a PRP Face Lift address?
PRP Face Lift treatments are commonly used to improve overall skin quality, texture, tone, radiance, fine lines, and skin firmness. Treatment plans are customized based on your anatomy, concerns, and goals.
How is a PRP Face Lift different from a Vampire Facial®?
Both treatments use platelet-rich plasma (PRP) derived from your own blood. A Vampire Facial® combines PRP with microneedling and focuses primarily on improving skin texture, tone, and overall skin quality. A PRP Face Lift uses PRP injections as part of a facial rejuvenation treatment without microneedling.
How is a PRP Face Lift different from dermal fillers?
PRP and dermal fillers serve different purposes. Dermal fillers are designed to restore volume and contour, while PRP uses concentrated platelets from your own blood to support collagen production and skin rejuvenation. Depending on your goals, PRP may be used alone or incorporated into a broader treatment plan.
Will a PRP Face Lift add volume like filler?
PRP is not a traditional dermal filler and is not intended to replace lost volume in the same way that filler products do. Its primary purpose is to support the skin's natural regenerative processes and overall skin quality.
Will I be swollen after treatment?
Yes, some swelling is expected following a PRP Face Lift. Because the treatment involves facial injections, temporary swelling, redness, and tenderness are normal responses. Swelling occurs as a result of the injection process itself, the placement of PRP within the tissues, and the body's natural healing response. Swelling is often most noticeable during the first few days after treatment and gradually improves as the treated areas heal.
Can a PRP Face Lift replace a surgical facelift?
No. A PRP Face Lift is a non-surgical treatment designed to support facial rejuvenation and skin quality. Patients with significant skin laxity or advanced signs of aging may benefit from other treatment options, which can be discussed during consultation.
Can a PRP Face Lift be combined with other treatments?
Yes. PRP therapy may be incorporated into a broader aesthetic treatment plan and can be combined with other treatments when appropriate. Your provider will recommend the safest and most effective treatment approach based on your goals.
Does the treatment hurt?
Most patients tolerate the procedure well. You may experience mild pinching, pressure, or temporary sensitivity during the procedure.
Will I bruise after treatment?
Possibly. Any time we place a needle into the skin, bruising is a possibility. Temporary bruising, redness, tenderness, minor bleeding, or pinpoint bruising can occur following treatment and generally resolve within several days.
Is PRP safe?
Because PRP is derived from your own blood, the risk of allergic reaction is very low. As with any medical procedure, potential risks and side effects will be reviewed during your consultation before treatment.
Is there any downtime?
Most patients can resume normal daily activities shortly after treatment. Temporary redness, swelling, tenderness, bruising, or mild discomfort may occur and typically improve within several days.
What should I avoid before treatment?
To help minimize bruising and support optimal results, we generally recommend avoiding alcohol for at least 24 hours before treatment and avoiding blood-thinning supplements such as fish oil, vitamin E, turmeric, garlic, and ginkgo for 5–7 days prior, if medically appropriate. Avoid excessive sun exposure, tanning, or sunburn in the treatment area, and arrive well-hydrated after eating a light meal. Do not stop any prescription medications unless directed by your healthcare provider.
What should I avoid after treatment?
Following treatment, we generally recommend avoiding anti-inflammatory medications (such as ibuprofen, aspirin, and naproxen), alcohol, strenuous exercise, and excessive heat exposure—including hot tubs, saunas, and steam rooms—for at least 24–48 hours. Avoid touching, rubbing, or applying pressure to the treated areas, and follow all post-treatment instructions provided by your provider.
When will I see results?
Results are not immediate and typically develop gradually over several weeks as collagen remodeling occurs. Individual results vary, and some patients may benefit from a series of treatments.
How many treatments will I need?
While some patients notice improvement after a single treatment, a series of treatments may be recommended to achieve optimal results. Maintenance treatments may also be recommended over time based on your goals and response to treatment.
How long do results last?
Results vary from patient to patient based on factors such as age, skin condition, lifestyle, sun exposure, and overall health. Maintenance treatments may be recommended to help sustain results over time.
Am I a candidate for a PRP Face Lift?
You may not be a candidate if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have an active skin infection, bleeding disorder, clotting abnormality, autoimmune condition, active systemic infection, certain dermatologic conditions, recent facial procedures, or are taking medications that may affect bleeding or healing. During your consultation, we will review your medical history and determine whether treatment is appropriate for you.
