Our Treatments
Masseter neurotoxin treatment places a small amount of neurotoxin into the masseter (jaw) muscle to help reduce muscle activity associated with clenching, grinding, and tension. For some patients, it may also soften a heavy or square jawline. Care at Randali is physician-directed and individualized — appropriateness is determined during a confidential consultation.
The masseter is one of the muscles that powers the jaw. When it is overactive — from clenching (bruxism), grinding, or habit — it can contribute to muscle tension, soreness, and a more prominent jaw shape. Relaxing the muscle with a targeted neurotoxin may help ease that tension and, for some, gently soften the jawline.
It is important to understand what this treatment does and does not do: it addresses muscle activity, not the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) itself. It is not a treatment or cure for a TMJ joint disorder (TMD). If a joint problem is suspected, your provider may recommend a dental or medical evaluation.
Using neurotoxin in the masseter for clenching, grinding, or TMJ-related muscle symptoms is an off-label use. This page is educational; your provider determines whether it is appropriate for you.
