They can look alike. Eczema tends to be very itchy and appear in skin folds, while psoriasis often forms thicker, well-defined scaly plaques. Your provider will evaluate your skin and refer you if the diagnosis is uncertain.
Joint pain or swelling with psoriasis can signal psoriatic arthritis. We refer you to a dermatologist and rheumatologist for evaluation.
