BOTOX NOW FDA APPROVED FOR CROW’S FEET!
Facial expression lines occur over time by the repeated use of facial muscles. Expressions like frowning, squinting, smiling and raising the brows cause the skin to be repeatedly creased forming permanent lines and deep wrinkles around the eyes. Over time, these lines become deeply etched in the skin lending a tired, worried or angry look. A neuromodulator such as Botox lessens the appearance of these types of wrinkles or expression lines and is the only product available to do so, so effectively. Sadly, Strivectin is not “better than Botox”.
Getting Rid of Deep Wrinkles Around the Eyes
Recently, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved the use of Botox for treating crow’s feet. Crow’s Feet or Lateral Canthal lines are the tiny (or not so tiny) wrinkles that form at the outer corners of the eyes. Prior to this new indication, Botox was only FDA approved for treatment of frown lines between the eyebrows called Glabellar furrows. The FDA decision came after a careful study of 833 adults. The results showed a greater reduction of crow’s feet in the people treated with Botox than those without. Although Botox has been used safely and legally for years in an off-label capacity, the new FDA-approval now adds additional and proven reassurance. This approval will also allow Allergan, the manufacturer of Botox, to advertise this new indication and you will soon be seeing their new ads everywhere in the media as Botox injections still remain the number one cosmetic procedure worldwide.

Eye Wrinkle Treatments
Typically, Botox treatments only take about 15 minutes to complete. It is a virtually painless procedure and does not require use of an anesthetic cream. The skin smoothing effect of Botox can be seen in 5 to 7 days and last for 4 to 5 months. The overall effect of a treatment with Botox is an improved, refreshed appearance which restores confidence!
Although complications are rare, Botox is an actual medical procedure and should be performed in a properly equipped medical office. Experienced physicians with advanced training are your best choice when seeking a Botox treatment. With 12 years of experience with Botox, Dr. Cohen is well qualified to treat crow’s feet or any other facial expression lines. Practice does make perfect and what outcome is more important than that of one to your face?
